The seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hears the word, retain it and by preserving, produce a crop. Luke 8:15
The parable of the sower (8:1-21)
The crowds following Jesus are large. But this parable points out that only a few will respond by their actions. Thus, the “good ground,” and family relationship with God, are related to a faith which, when it hears God’s word, puts that word into practice.
… “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.”
Christians are being persecuted more and more. Like Bruce Hunt, the missionary, who memorized the Bible in preparation for the times when he did not have access to it, I’ve decided to memorize at least one verse a day.
It’s a good way of retaining and preserving the word of God. Seed = word of God. Good soil = a noble and good heart. Crop = putting God’s word into practice.
