“Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will add to your days fifteen years. Isaiah 38:5
I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city.” ‘ Isaiah 38:6
38:1 In those days refers to a time before the events recorded in chs. 36; 38 (v.6). These earlier events are presented after Jerusalem’s deliverance from Assyria because that deliverance was not the last word for either Hezekiah or Jerusalem.
1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.
⇒ When in trouble, run to God. He’s there! We can talk to him. He responds and is willing to change the course of events depending on what we say to Him!
