Going Home Acts 7:59-60
When death is near, the Lord offers courage, not necessarily escape. This is true in peace and in persecution. But when separated from this life, the Christian is welcomed home, not rejected. The greatest home children of God have is that upon death, heaven will welcome them.
Have you ever taken the time to read the words of some of the saints about preparing to die? Adoniram Judson, an American missionary to Burma, said, “When Christ calls me home, I shall go with the gladness of a boy bounding away from school… I feel so strong in Christ.”
Stephen’s last words were, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. Lord, don’t charge them with this sin!” When children of God are separated from this earth – whenever and however it happens – they are welcomed home.
