He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink.
When I was young, I wasn’t that hungry. I was well fed and all my needs were met. Bible was just a story book then.
But, now, as a grownup, I think I understand the hunger that doesn’t get satisfied. Unlike the advertisement of grownups, Surprise! People aren’t that nice in this world. And, I’m not the nice person I was going to be. Then the ultimate bad news of certain death in the end.
Problems – then came the solution.
I think now I understand what he means by eating his flesh and drinks his blood. He so completely solved our problem of death by paying for it with his own flesh and blood. By eating/having faith in what he has given up, I obtain eternal life.
That’s the knowledge God wants to feed us so that it becomes our won flesh and blood.
This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate, and died, he who eats this bread shall live forever. John 6:58
