5 And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. … 8 “So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God. He made me father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt.  Genesis 45:5, 8

Bible is a story told by God to his children.  God is capable of controlling the minds of rulers of this world — Cyrus, king of Persia and Pharaoh in this chapter.   God also shows how Joseph forgave his brothers.  I see how helpless Jacob, Joseph’s human father was in protecting his most beloved son.  Joseph could forgive his brothers because he came to know God and was blessed by him.  He was not at the mercy of humans.  Joseph tells his brothers “do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.”
