When Elisha came into the house, there was the child, lying dead on his bed. He went in therefore, shut the door behind the two of them, and prayed to the Lord. 2 Kings 4:32, 33
Miracles after Prayer, According to the Word of the Lord
Ministries of mercy: 2 Kings 4:1-6:7 A number of wonders performed by Elisha are now reported. It is likely but not certain these all take place during Joram’s reign.
Miracles in this chapter. Elisha saves a widow from her creditors, restores a Shunammite woman’s son to life and saves a company of prophets from poisoned food and multiples food to feed the hungry.
So he set it before them; and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord. 4:44
–> Elisha’s miracles are similar to those of Jesus Christ. The miracles saved lives. They weren’t performed to make profits but to save lives. When we have real and desperate needs like the people in this chapter, we can look for someone who is close to God to pray for us, and we can also pray on our own. The Lord will hear our sincere players and respond. So, it is well.
