Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
what comes to my mind is “it’s not what you know but who you know.” 🙂 I’ll get in line.
If a super rich, super powerful man, for some reason, wants to adopt me as his daughter and let me inherit his wealth, I won’t ask him why. I’ll just go before he changes his mind.
John 5 starts with a multitude of sick people – sick, blind, lame and withered, waiting for the moving of the waters — to be healed. a 38 year old man was there. Jesus said to him, “Do you wish to get well?” “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am coming; another steps down before me.”
Jesus said to him, “Arise, take up your pallet, and walk.” .. immediately the man became well, and took up his pallet and began to walk.
Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “Behold, you have become well; do not sin anymore, so that nothing worse may befall you.”
Let’s pay attention to what he says. What a terrible thing to lose health, having to be lain down and be at other people’s mercy. Not being able to get up and move about on my own. It’s so horrible to be trapped like that.
