… only a few things are necessary, really only one, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not e taken away from her.
…one of the women in the crowd raised her voice, and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts as which You nursed.” But He said, On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.” Luke 10 & 11
It’s good to know that not many things are required. Mary was listening to the Lord’s word, seated at his feet. Listen to the lord and do what he says. The first part – reading the Bible isn’t that hard. the second part, of observing it is harder.
For example, not working on Sundays. But, after listening to him and not following through is not that easy either. It creates conflicts in my mind. I would feel incomplete. What’s the point of studying if what I study isn’t become my flesh and blood?
So, I’ll try.
Like a child who is learning and growing mature. Like a tree absorbing water and sun light and growing tall… so, I want to be his mature child. Be His. Be acknowledged by him as his own. Only that is important worthy of my endeavor.
I’ll put my feet down, throw my arms out and ask Him to make it happen.
